  • Buyer Notes: Prospective buyers, please note that this ring slightly rattles when shaken, meaning that it would be best to have the ring checked by your preferred jeweler post-purchase PRIOR to consistent wear. It is perfectly normal for components to loosen over time with affectionate use, and therefore, is an inherent characteristic of secondhand jewelry and should be expected by consumers of used goods of any kind. Given this, tightening of components is an equally standard service offered by jewelers. Even so, the price has been set to fairly reflect this need. This ring is a more recent vintage jewel, yet its symbolism has ancient roots.

The Story:

A lovely retro accessory, this statement ring features a mossy green nephrite jade cut as an oval tablet form. Affixed to its center is a polished white gold Hebrew “Chai” character that is mounted with seven twinkling diamonds. Because of this element’s construction, the symbol stands proud of the nephrite’s surface, and catches the light with interest at every angle and turn. The brightness of the white gold and the diamonds is especially crisp against the earthy tone and quality of the nephrite gemstone.

This green tablet is set within a set of four double prongs that round the stone’s edge and draw the eye around to the prominent gallery underneath. The undergallery is bold and adds a whimsical touch to the ring, with swirling latticework that gives way to a slender gold band. When viewed from underneath, the construction of the white gold and diamond Chai component is visible (as pictured), where some solder is visible on the hidden underside of the nephrite. The yellow gold setting cleverly hides this from view, so that it is not apparent whatsoever from any angle. Together with the slightly larger scale of the ring as a whole, this ornament beckons as much confidence as it does spiritual sentiment.

The Chai symbol is made up of two Hebrew letters chet (ח) and yud (י); chet corresponds to the number 8 and yud corresponds to the number 10, together forming a summation of 18. Gematria is a Jewish tradition that assigns a numerical value to each of the Hebrew letters, and it is through this mystical lens that the number 18 is elevated to significant import and symbolizes good fortune and good life. Recalling the seven diamonds present, the number 7 is also a holy number and refers to the six days of faithful labor and its reverent reward of one day of rest, or Shabbat. In relationship with the number 18’s meanings, a story of blessings and reminders unfolds.

Accordingly, nephrite jade carries its own attributes, being that it is a shield of protection for its wearer, a bringer of luck and emotional balance. Likewise, diamonds signify beauty and strength forged through time and trial. Altogether, this ring relays a full message of spirited endurance and an inheritance of divine prosperity.

By placing an order, you accept and agree to uphold Revival Fine Jewelry's terms, conditions and policies.

Regarding All Purchases: All additional 'prop' jewelry boxes, ring boxes, or any other jewelry items pictured alongside the featured listing are for photographic and display purposes only and are not included in the transaction unless explicitly noted in the listing description and/or title. Your order will be carefully packed within a branded Revival Fine Jewelry gift box and will ship in a discreet outer shipping parcel.

Regarding Sale Purchases: Items purchased while on sale and/or sold at specially discounted rates negotiated and agreed upon by Revival Fine Jewelry and a designated consumer are considered final sale. Sale and discounted items are nonreturnable, nonrefundable and ineligible for layaway.

Regarding Brooches & Pins: Often significantly and curiously undervalued jewelry items, brooches, pins and stick pins are treasured pieces of history in this shop. Accordingly, their pricing is calculated analogous to other fine jewelry, including their symbolic meaning, rarity and historical prestige. Such pieces are typically converted to other forms of jewelry, and are therefore becoming increasingly rare in their original states. Aside from being perfectly wearable as sophisticated lapel ornaments, brooches and pins of all kinds are prime candidates for many kinds of fine jewelry conversions, including rings, earrings, pendants, and charms, if so desired by the consumer post-purchase. Revival Fine Jewelry does not perform conversion projects for customers.

Regarding Storage & Boxes: All specifications, including but not limited to the measurements, age, origins, and material compositions are supplied in good faith as professional estimations constructed using professional grade tools, years of learned and honed skills, educational resources and academic scholarship, and refined research methods. Regardless of our confidence in our descriptions and the photographs deemed viable extensions of these descriptions, we cannot guarantee the definitiveness, faultlessness, or exactitude beyond our knowledge and expertise. Kindly keep in mind that this and all items are sold as-is vintage, antique and estate secondhand wares, and consequently bear conditional wear in matter and operation commensurate with age and use.

Layaway is available for full priced, non-sale items priced $600.00 USD or greater, and items may not be combined to attain price-eligibility. Plans are offered as 3-month/90-day maximum terms.

In exchange for offering interest-free plans, customers agree to abide and uphold the following nonnegotiable terms and conditions:

• A 30% non-refundable deposit is due upfront to reserve the item for layaway and pull it from public sale on all of our shopping platforms. Shipping expenses are added to this first payment unless otherwise requested.

• The remaining 70% balance is divided up into three subsequent monthly payments due on the same day of the following three months. If deliquent, a $20.00 USD late fee is added per day to an overdue payment until paid.

In the event that a layaway installment is left unpaid for seven (7) days and no communication is received from the designated customer, the layaway plan will be presumed abandoned. While the item will be returned to public sale, all payments made hitherto are still considered final.

Layaway items are promptly boxed and shipped to the designated customer once the final payment successfully processes. Taxes, import and other legal fees are not calculated into the payments, and are the sole responsibility of the customer, whether a domestic US or international buyer.
