HOWEVER, please see the below clause, indicating that our research has also turned up results that imply that this ring is likely a reproduction, or a Victorian-inspired piece. It is of French design and origins, and was auctioned there before being auctioned in the UK and then the US.
- Buyer Notes: A single modified rose cut diamond gemstone (measuring smaller than 0.8 mm in diameter) has been lost to time prior to our procurement of this ring. This loss is in one of the outermost bezel settings, as pictured for clarity. Due to circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to have it replaced before listing the ring for sale. However, such a rough cut at such a tiny size may be replaced by your jeweler at a very nominal rate and does not detract from the rarity and overall value of the ring. Even so, it is our priority to be as straightforward as possible with our customers on the topic of the piece’s condition. In no way does this expected evidence of wear detract from the ring’s beauty as-is.
- Authenticity: In researching the provenance of this ring, and having traced it back to multiple auctions in France and the UK, we have found that it is likely that this ring is a reproduction or inspired piece. This means that it could be a Victorian Revival, reproduction Victorian Revival, or Victorian-inspired ring. If this is the case, then the ring could date from the 1960s to the 2000s or later, and does not date to the original Mid Victorian period. We always aim to date items as accurately as possible, but we are human and always learning how to better pinpoint date ranges and aesthetic movements in the wearable arts, and we are always honing our technical eye in spotting reproductions. It is our goal to be transparent about our efforts and estimates. Because we cannot guarantee the item's 19th century Victorian origins, the price has been fairly set to a fraction of what it would be if it were guaranteed authentic Victorian.

The Story:
This extravagant cluster ring abounds in diamonds, together a remarkable display of brilliance and fire. True to Georgian and early Victorian custom, this ring features a sterling silver face mounted atop an 18k yellow gold under-gallery and shank. While the sterling face offers a cool backdrop that causes the diamonds to read more visually prominent, the satin-brushed finish of the yellow gold offers a delicious and timeless warmth that perfectly compliments the old cut stones. Such a dual tonality was very common in the 18th and 19th centuries for nearly all kinds of diamond-encrusted jewels.
Also in suit, the diamonds are each mounted within pinched collet or rub-over bezel settings. Both kinds of settings protect the girdles of diamonds, though they also make exact carat evaluation a bit trickier, as the precise dimensions of the diamonds cannot be known without removing every one for measurement, which would disturb the original integrity of the ring. This ring is an incredible reference of early Victorian design, its symmetry set upon an axis, giving an overall floral and diamond-shaped silhouette. From every angle, foliate allusions are made manifest, celebrating the organicism and feminism that was so beloved in the aesthetics of the 1840s through the 1860s. Even the central diamond is set askew within its mount in such a manner as to revel in the sensuous shape of its hand-cut facets. In the same vein, the cardinal points of the ring are crafted in widened fleur-de-lis shapes inset with three diamonds each, a reference to the blossoms that have long been associated with the holiness, purity and divine appointment of royalty and marriage.
To the reverse, this ring presents an extremely fine example of open-backed settings. Until the 19th century (and sometimes beyond), diamonds and other gemstones were mounted with a closed metal backing, often with a slip of colored foil between the stone and the metal mount to reflect and refract light off of the faceting. However, this ring shows the clean craftsmanship of open backs, sans foil, so as to allow for the natural refraction of sunlight in, through and back out of the diamonds. The result of this design element is a natural dazzle that no foil could ever sufficiently or comparably imitate. Of course, the bright whiteness of the mined diamonds only aids in their captivating luminosity, and the sterling face of the ring intensifies their unbeatable glow.
As mentioned, the under-gallery and shank are modeled in 18k yellow gold. The shoulders both show a lyre-like design composed of a triple-split shank that meets to form a single band. The three splits are reminiscent of both slender foliate forms as well as the central strings of an Ancient Greek lyre. A pairing of delicate cyma swirls flank the ‘strings’, and converge at the lyre’s tailpiece, where a “Heart-Leaf Philodendron” leaf recalls the affection of the human heart and completes the symbolic design of the band. The “Heart-Leaf Philodendron” is colloquially known as the Sweetheart Plant, is known for its viney structure and hardy nature, and is able to remove toxins from the air. It is easy to excavate the romantic metaphors of such a robust plant.
A treasure representing an era of nearly 200 years bygone, this ring alludes to the relics of both time and passion. It exists as an ode to the artistry of makers past whose names we will never know, and is a physical reflection of Victorian design. This ring is proud and arresting, and is as wearable today as the day it was unveiled for the very first time.

Shipping: All orders are carefully packed within a branded Revival Fine Jewelry gift box, secured with recycled materials when possible, and shipped within a discreet outer shipping parcel. All orders ship with tracking, insurance and signature confirmation. Shipping options are presented at checkout. Per law and inegrity, international orders are always marked as commodity imports and customers are responsible for any and all customs expenses, VAT taxes and import fees, as well as any clearance costs legally dictated by their respective destination countries. These expenses are not calculated into the pricing structure, and returns based on import costs will not be permitted.
Returns: While Revival Fine Jewelry aims to provide a smooth experience from start to finish, customers are encouraged to reach out regarding any issue or dissatisfaction, so that we may work together toward a resolution. If a return is desired, the shop must be notified of an intention to return within 3 days of confirmed delivery, and item(s) must be shipped back to the shop within 7 days of confirmed delivery. All materials (gift box, inserts, cards) must be returned with the item(s). Returns declared after the 3 day window and/or postmarked after 7 days of receipt will neither be accepted nor refunded. Customers are responsible for generating an insured return shipping label (international customers included) and relaying the tracking information to Revival Fine Jewelry. Returns that do not include full insurance and/or tracking, and are damaged or lost in transit, will not be refunded. If a return is accepted, customers will be refunded less the original cost of shipping, handling and insurance, the expense of any damages incurred, and a 10% restocking fee (of the original purchase price). All sale items, items altered or resized by the buyer post-purchase, and all storage/ boxes are considered final sale and are ineligible for a return or refund.
Sale Terms: Sale prices are only valid within the prescribed sale window, unless otherwise stated by Revival Fine Jewelry or agreed upon between Revival Fine Jewelry and a designated customer. To maintain business sustainability and general fairness, individual customers are not entitled to exclusive notification of, or owed access to, store sales antecedently. Orders processed prior to a promotion or sale, items placed on layaway prior to a sale, and payments paid through layaway prior to a sale will not be retroactively adjusted to reflect sale pricing or terms.
Specially Negotiated Deals: Items purchased at specially negotiated discounts, deals or prices through any platform between Revival Fine Jewelry and a designated customer are considered final sale, including rates arranged and agreed upon via Facebook, Instagram, email or any other method. Closing deals at special rates reflects a desire by both parties to reach an expeditious and absolute sale. Pricing: Revival Fine Jewelry reserves the right to decrease, increase, alter and modify inventory pricing to meet market rarity, demand or value; to offset platform, transaction or seller's fees; to adapt to economic inflation and fluctuation; and to defray specific business expenses. Pricing is the sole discretion of every small business.
Regarding Brooches & Pins: Often significantly and curiously undervalued jewelry items, brooches, pins and stick pins are treasured pieces of history in this shop. Accordingly, their pricing is calculated analogous to other fine jewelry, including their symbolic meaning, rarity and historical prestige. Such pieces are typically converted to other forms of jewelry, and are therefore becoming increasingly rare in their original states. Aside from being perfectly wearable as sophisticated lapel ornaments, brooches and pins of all kinds are prime candidates for many kinds of fine jewelry conversions, including rings, earrings, pendants, and charms, if so desired by the consumer post-purchase. Revival Fine Jewelry does not perform conversion projects for customers.

Layaway is available for full priced, non-sale items priced $600.00 USD or greater, and items may not be combined to attain price-eligibility. Plans are offered as 3-month/90-day maximum terms.
In exchange for offering interest-free plans, customers agree to abide and uphold the following nonnegotiable terms and conditions:
- A 30% deposit is due upfront to reserve the item for layaway and pull it from public sale on all of our shopping platforms. Shipping expenses are added to this first payment unless otherwise requested.
- The remaining 70% balance is divided up into three subsequent monthly payments due on the same day of the following three months. If delinquent, a $20.00 USD late fee is added per day to an overdue payment until paid.
- In the event that a layaway installment is left unpaid for seven (7) days and no communication is received from the designated customer, the layaway plan will be presumed abandoned. While the item will be returned to public sale, all payments made hitherto are still considered final.
Layaway items are promptly boxed and shipped to the designated customer once the final payment successfully processes. Taxes, import and other legal fees are not calculated into the payments, and are the sole responsibility of the customer, whether a domestic US or international buyer. Revival Fine Jewelry is not responsible for calculating, covering or adding such costs into purchase prices.
All layaway payments as well as all items purchased through layaway plans are considered final sale; neither payments nor items may be refunded, transferred, exchanged or returned. Revival Fine Jewelry does not issue store credit.
Revival Fine Jewelry reserves the right to cancel any layaway plan at any point for any reason if fraudulent activity is suspected. In this event, the designated customer will be notified prior to the intended cancellation of their plan.
